Jared Delivers a Baby!

This little (or big, depending on how you look at it) guy is what has been giving Jared (me) so much grief lately.

About two months ago, I woke Candace and told her that I needed to go to the hospital. Alarmed, she asked why, not knowing what was going on. I had already been up for about an hour and a half with a lot of pain on my left side, pacing around the house. By the time we made it to the ER most of the pain had already gone away. By the time I saw a doctor, all the pain was gone. I gave a sample of urine which was checked and came back positive for blood. The doctor said that 99% chance it was a kidney stone and it'll just pass through. He sent me on my way with some Lortab and Flomax and two strainers. I used up the Flomax and only took the Lortab when there was a lot of pain which wasn't often. Nothing passed through.

Today, I decided that I should have a Urologist take a look and see if something more was needed to be done. I've had a few more pain episodes throughout the last two months, a lot of discomfort and visible blood in my urine. The problem with talking to a Urologist is that they need to look at an x-ray to see if there really is a stone. Well we didn't do that when we went to the ER. So I set up an appointment anyway and knew that I'd just be sent out to get an x-ray. But in the meantime, they said, if I had a lot of pain that I should go to the ER. Well, just after getting off the phone with them, the pain increased. We went to the ER. Might as well get the x-ray done now and save some time with the Urologist. This time the ER was much more thorough. They checked my blood, my urine and we did a CT Scan (which was a new experience). After the results came back, there sure enough was a kidney stone, a fairly large one. It had made it's way into my bladder. The doctor said that it has just probably been circling around in there and causing the discomfort that I had recently been having. They gave me the x-ray and paperwork that I'd take over with me to the Urologist. I felt need to go to the bathroom one more time and POP, it came out.

RELIEF!
